Folly Beach and Kiawah Island
on June 29th, 2005 at 10:22 amIn the middle of the South Carolina coast sits Folly Beach. Widely known as one of the best surfing spots in South Carolina, it is only a 15 minute drive from the hustle and bustle (if you can call it that) of Charleston.
Not only can you stay in Charleston and make a day trip out of Folly Beach, but you might even get a chance to see some amazing wild birds like the Bald Eagle at the area bird sanctuary.
Kiawah Island is just a few minutes further from Charleston and boasts 10 miles of white sand beach. This area is fit for the nature lover and has miles of hiking trails and bike paths that take you right into the heart of nature.
“We think very highly of Kiawah,” said Mr. Crosby, “but you have to come in and stay there and it might take a bit more planning for such a pristine beach.”
